Frozen whole Salak Madu from Malaysia. This is a large honey-sweet variety of the salak palm fruit. Originally from Indonesia, Malaysian farmers have taken to growing Salak Madu for its earthy honey sweet taste and large size.
The flavour profile of this variety of salak is on the honey sweet flavour spectrum. Not at all medicinal like the Thai variety.
Snakefruit flesh has a firm pineapple-like flavour with the texture a jackfruit. This variety has larger flesh to seed ratio, and a good crunchy bite in spite being frozen.
1kg net packs. Product of Malaysia.

TIPS FOR DEFROSTING & EATING FROZEN SALAK
1. DO NOT store at room temperature if not consuming immediately. Store below -18°C or below. DO NOT refreeze after defrosting.
2. Can be consumed directly from frozen storage. Just peel skin, and enjoy!
3. Can be defrosted in the fridge/chilled storage. Consume within 24 hours of defrosting. DO NOT defrost at room temperature.
* Once peeled, the flesh of the salak madu will turn brown from oxidation. This is normal (similar to apples) and does not affect the taste of the fruit.
