The TPP1 mango is a fragrant sweet Asian long mango with a hook tail, and usually eaten ripe. TPP1 is an exclusive mango variety crossbred by the talented Mrs Siah at Tropical Primary Products in Darwin, NT.
This is a great introductory mango to the more popular Australian Kensington Pride/Bowen and R2E2 mangoes. If you’re familiar with the honey sweet, fuller aromatic mangoes of Southeast Asia, the TTP1 will be a tropical fruit experience reminiscent of your home/holidays.
The Thorny Fruit Co will select a mix of mangoes that are mature green, and partially yellow. As we usually purchase these mangoes upon its first arrival in Sydney from Darwin, expect these mangoes to take a further 3-7 days of ripening at room temperature.
Do not store unripe mangoes in the fridge. Allow to ripen at room temperature until fully ripe.
Some of our Filipino customers have pointed out that the TPP1 is reminiscent in sweetness to mangoes from the Philippines.
